Quarter/ Tinker Mix sucht neues zu Hause

For sale is an almost 4-year-old Quarter/Tinker mix gelding, currently standing at approximately 1.55m. "Devil in Red" is quite the opposite of his name and is a wonderful and sweet young horse that always tries to do everything right for his person.

We call him Leo, and he has been with us since he was weaned. He lives in an open stable with 3 other geldings and is low in the pecking order. Leo is very playful and loves to gallop across the pasture with his buddies.

He is being sold as lightly backed. He is familiar with a saddle, bridle, lunging, and bike riding. I have sat on him several times (though irregularly) and we have successfully been out on the trail 3 times. There, he showed himself to be very sweet and unflappable. He handled all three gaits effortlessly and was simply a joy to ride.

He has never shown any bad habits under saddle. Lunging also works wonderfully. Recently, he has been fitted with egg bar shoes on his hind feet.

I am selling him because I have another older gelding who was supposed to be euthanized for health reasons three years ago. That's when I bought Leo. Now, I find myself with two horses and a toddler. I can't give him the time he deserves, and I can't reconcile that with my conscience. He is such a great horse, and I can easily see him as part of a parent-child team.

He is unfazed by tractors, dogs, and children. Leo has been regularly vaccinated and was just recently dewormed. In November 2024, he received the West Nile Virus vaccination. Trailer loading is also not an issue for him. In the summer, we often took him to the lake for swimming, which he thoroughly enjoyed after a brief hesitation.
